The summer is coming to a close. I go back to work in 2 weeks and the kids go back to school in a little over three weeks. It's been a good summer. I've done a lot of reading, which is one of my favorite things to do, and I've relaxed. Lexi and I went to New York in June and we had a great time with my mother and mother-in-law. We went to see the Statue of Liberty, went to the top of the Empire State Building, got to be on TV as part of the audience on The Today Show (Lexi took pictures with Natalie Morales and Anne Curry), and went into some pretty dark places in China Town. We had a blast and are looking forward to our next mother/daughter trip. E. J. worked out most of the summer trying to keep in shape for football season. He's looking older everyday. Eddie, well, Eddie had to work. I have to admit that it's nice to sleep later than he does for 3 months out of the year.
As the summer comes to a close there is only one more thing I have left to do - read Breaking Dawn. It comes out tomorrow and I can't wait to read it. E. J. says I'm obsessed with Edward, the main character, but I think it's okay because I have to admit that at times he reminds me of my own Edward (Eddie), although I've never told him that. I only have one more day to wait for the book to come out and I can read what finally happens. It should make for a great end of summer read.
